Zakynthos Island Retreats

Accessibility statement

Zakynthos Island Retreats is committed to making https://islandretreats.gr/ accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1, level AA.

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially” means that some content, mostly from third parties, does not yet fully conform (see “Known limitations”).

What we have done

  • A “Skip to content” link and full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator.
  • Sufficient colour contrast (at least 4.5:1 for text) and zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
  • Text alternatives (alt) for photos, and a proper heading and landmark structure.
  • The language of every page is declared, and every form field has a label.
  • The system “reduce motion” preference is respected.
  • A responsive design for phones and tablets.

Known limitations

  • Third-party content (for example embedded Google Maps, videos, partner booking engines and calendars) is controlled by its providers and may not fully meet WCAG.
  • Some older photos or PDF files may lack a complete text alternative.

How we assessed this

We carried out a self-evaluation: automated testing (axe-core) on desktop and mobile, manual keyboard navigation checks, and colour contrast and zoom checks. The site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA.
